Pupienus, 238. Antoninianus (Silver, 24 mm, 5.74 g, 12 h), Rome, circa April-June 238. IMP CAES PVPIEN MAXIMVS AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Pupienus to right, seen from behind. Rev. CARITAS MVTVA AVGG Clasped right hands. BMC 87. Cohen 3. RIC 10b. An attractive example, nicely toned and struck on a broad flan. The reverse a bit weak, otherwise, extremely fine.
